    make sure you have the required IOS' installed on your Wii. Mine works perfect with cIOSCorp/softmod.

    they did brick a lot of Wii's with 2.9 though so I personally wouldn't bother. The guide from past releases isn't n00b proof and contains errors and now the bricking. These guys should stick to making a tutorial and packaging everyone elses tools.
