Hacking Sx Core and Sx Lite , test Units Received

Hi! I gave up looking for a European shop for SX Core/Lite. Most of them were shipping from China anyway, so I went on and ordered one from AliExpress. (Look for YF-... shop on page #109 in this thread). It came reasonably fast. (25 days) via NL Post, Customs Free. Cheers.

Hacking Sx Core and Sx Lite , test Units Received

Just got my second Lite. Updated to latest firmware and left a bit to charge, before I' ll try installing my SX lite on the new one. Let's see.. Cleaned up.. ...and finished soldering.. That was quick. I'll test it as it is this time.. (without reassembling anything) P.S.: All photos...

I noticed that my SX Lite seems different than yours (as seen on your last photo). Mine also has three letters printed onto it (Check my last posted photo). Are there any clones around or there are different versions available?

I' ve been messing with electronics since childhood ( in the '80s). Yes, everything is tiny on the Lite, but I managed to do it easily with a Hakko 926 soldering station and a Hakko 900 soldering iron that I have on my desk at this time. No microscope, no magnifying glass, no sweat. It is quite...

Hacking Sx Core and Sx Lite , test Units Received

Well, since I could not find any solution anywhere to the blank screen issue, I went on and ordered a new Lite. Will there be a problem installing the same SX Lite on the new NS Lite? I never got past the "boot.dat" screen on my (now "blind") first NS Lite.

The weird thing is that it worked after finishing all soldering. I'm wondering if putting the metal RF shield over the motherboard caused any short circuit with the (exposed) SX lite. Or maybe I should put some insulating tape below the SX Lite PCB..

Hi! I'm on the same boat. I finished installing SX Lite, got the green light, the Boot.dat screen and went on reassembling everything. When I tried it again to go on with SX oS install etc, I got the green led, backlight on, but blank screen. Disassembled again, unplugged chip and my switch...

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
