    I was having this same problem, but with the latest rev od Usb Gx, my hdd was detected. Maybe try getting the newer versions.

    I used the rev10 for a while, but i was getting some freezing trouble in games like DOnkey Kong and Wario Shake it. So i changed back to rev9 Check out this, it helped me a lot!

    I've heard the others revisions like rev12 and 13, you should connect the usb to the usb port nearest to the wii edge. Here we should do the opposite, connect to the far away from the edge, right?

    Maybe a little progress... Some other games started to freeze, like Star Wars Force Unleashed and Wario Land Shake it. So, i remembered that i have instaled cIOS rev10. I installed the rev9 and until now i haven't got any freezing game... Do you know if you got the rev9 or 10?
