    Thanks all, I followed the advice and now the PS3 is working fine on 4.82 Rebug. It was a breeze to fix... ahh the wonders of 3.55 FW!

    RIght ok, so rather than installing the rebug firmware, I should install the 3.55 Kmeaw CFW firmware instead? (Via USB thumbdrive) Any idea where one can download such an old CFW in 2018? Cheers
