    Why exactly should he do this? There is no collector's-value in a 1.0 OFW and you can't even play most games on it without updating. lol, he can't even launch Decrypt9 on 1.0.0-0, except I'm missing something. Also what should it be useful for?

    Interesting indeed. But also more or less useless. If he has Cubic Ninja, he can simply stick to the current version of the guide by using Ninjhax2 instead of soundhax. Anyways, I have the impression that OP has gone missing in action anyways, lol. So the discussion is more or less theoretical.

    1) is completely wrong for reasons that have already been pointed out two times in this thread. 2) will work but not with Soundhax. A different homebrew-entrypoint will be needed 3) I have no idea about this. Haven't seen any mention of a otp dump code on 3ds.guide

    Cheapest would probably be gamecard with FW 9.0 to 11.2 plus Cubic Ninja, just like I wrote in my first reply. Most likely easier to obtain than flashcards.

    Nope. He will then have 11.x.0-0 (x being 0 or 1) without browser, without 3DS sound. So no soundhax ;) Ninjhax is the way to go then (or OOThax or whatever).

    Cubic Ninja alone won't do any good though, since it won't update the 3DS to firmware >=9.0 (I think CN has something like 7.x or 8.x, anyways too low for Ninjhax2). You still need another game for FW>=9.0.

    1.0.0-0 means he has no browser, so a cart-update to 2.1 won't help.

    Possible yes, but not without additional investments. You will need to find a gamecard that updates your 3DS to 9.0.0 - 11.2.0 and another gamecard that serves you as entrypoint to Homebrewlauncher. Soundhax won't work for devices which were upgraded by cart and you can't do an online upgrade...
