    Ok removed the pads from under the ram shield, applied new pad on top of ram shield, applied mx4 thin on top of die, applied a thin line of compound on the heat pipe. Firing up diablo, I'll report back on temps

    Thanks. So you did remove the copper shim? I put thermal pads on the ram chips and on the ram chip shield as well.

    Good deal. Do you spread a thin film or do the dot method? Also you did remove the copper shim right? What you think about an IC thermal pad over paste?

    Hmm. Wondering what I should do? Too much paste? I heard you really can't go too much as it'll just squish out Is that idle at the home screen or idle at the game menu

    Hey so I did a repaste twice with new mx-4, and my temps are like 32-33c at idle. Playing Diablo I get 47c and the fan is around 25-28%. I was expecting lower temps. I did remove the copper shim, but I'm thinking it should be there... Maybe I should go to a thermal pad? What did you guy...
