Makes sense for a last gen. There's an enormous used market and many existing Switch owners. So long, little Tegra-powered tablet.

Correction. Nintendo has never shutdown a console eShop downloads. Only ever disabled billing and buying of content. You can still redownload all your old DSI and WiiWare stuff you bough prior.

Yeah, that's always been their one positive to is at least you can get some semblance of ownership. The only upside to CiaB is there's a chance the price will get cheaper, quicker than DD alone.
