I've been holding off on formatting hoping that something comes up too. I'm positive that a solution could be found but I'm not so sure there's much interest in developing one.
Very helpful info. I think we can now rule out quite a few possible causes:
Not related to a full friends list (mine isn't full).
Not related to Mii Plaza data (I downgraded a 2DS with data on it)
Not related to Ambassador titles.
Not caused by internal SD card issues.
Not obviously related to...
I think it might've been my post this morning that inspired this one!
I transferred ambassador details to my N3DS and now can't get a successful downgrade (always softbrick).
However, I think a better poll might be to find someone who *has* managed to downgrade an ambassador N3DS rather than...
The only thing is I can't think why transferring from an ambassador O3DS would make a difference. The difference should be something that's installed on our sysnands that isn't on other 3DS units, but all the ambassador stuff is saved to SD. DSiware is installed to sysnand but I moved that to...
Thanks for the advice. I did think about doing a transfer then formatting, but I don't think you can transfer from a N3DS to O3DS so I'd have to get another N3DS - at which point I might as well just format that one.
Is there some way to back mii plaza/streetpass/activity log data before I...
I'm having some problems downgrading my EUR N3DS. I've tried three times so far on 10.3, 10.6 and 10.7 and every time sysupdater says it's successful but I get the "error has occured" message when booting and am forced to go into recovery mode and update (hence the different firmware attempts)...
I don't have access to modding tools to check, but I'm fairly certain if you got a hex editor and changed the value at 0x143 to 80 (it should be 00 at the moment) that would enable the palette colours.
(It wouldn't allow you to select a palette but I think because red and blue had defaults built...
I'm not an expert on this, but I don't think it's a problem with the patch. I've looked through the files and can't see anything obvious relating to colours. The closest is the line ";PaletteX = c31,31,31 ;X:0~15, cR,G,B (0~31)" at the start. This suggests that there are 16 palettes available...
I think this has already been covered in the other thread. Something to do with the emulator not loading all the correct pallets, just some of them.
The bits that are blanked use the pallets that aren't loading properly. Or at least that's what I understood.
I tried messing about with the roms...
I'm trying to dump my Yellow CIA via Braindump for some attempted rom hacking but it keeps crashing on a red (lower) screen on starting Braindump. Could anyone offer some help?
