Dreamcast modded with GDEMU and OpenMenu as OS: is it possible to use DreamShell 4.0.1?

Why does OpenMenu need updating? It works well. It doesn't need any major updates. If you don't like the way it looks, use a different theme. Dreamshell can be run from OpenMenu, but not sure if it's possible to boot to Dreamshell with GDEMU. These are just menus that let you pick games, you...

DREAM RIDE: a game I made for Sega Dreamcast

Gaming Who wants the MaBoShi DS ROM?

I created a custom skin for Delta emulator on iOS so we can play MaBoShi DS in style. https://blog.gingerbeardman.com/2024/04/18/per-game-skins-in-the-delta-classic-video-game-emulator-for-ios/ - combines both screens into one - normal portrait iPhone orientation - leaves a gap at the top for...

    Hacking WiiFlow Lite

If you're not using a native 480p display, it's almost impossible to notice the difference of the "480p fix" because the image will be processed in all manner of ways by your TV due to upscaling, HDMI, post-processing. If you are using a native 480p display (like me) with no scaling or...

[RELEASE] Clean and Classy Wiiflow Lite Theme

A screenshot would be good. 1689270757 I checked it out briefly, it seems to be focussed on kid friendliness. Game config needs to be done in a different theme!?! So, not for me.

    Hacking WiiFlow Lite

Is there any limit to GCT size? Trying GoldenEye 007 Wii "New Server" GCT file in WFL: - old unknown version ~4KB from mid-2020 works OK (I forgot to save it when upgrading my setup, doh) - latest 3.1 version ~10KB from late 2022 does not work (black screen) Using USA GoldenEye wbfs, Ocarina...

    Misc Introducing the Wiimmfi Notifier

The above message may explain why my notifications stopped around March 20. Probably a lot of people that setup notifications once and then only consume them have been kicked. Today I thought that it can't be over a month since my favourite game was played online. 🤔 So now I have reactivated...

    Homebrew Unofficial 3DS RetroArch builds

Things must have really changed since I last tried to run PS1 games!

    Homebrew Unofficial 3DS RetroArch builds

No. New 3DS is barely powerful enough to run the lowliest of PS games, without it having to run shaders on top. Plus the screen isn't high enough resolution for shaders to work their real magic. You can do screen overlay, scanlines, but honestly the 3DS 400x240px screen is a an exact...

    Homebrew Unofficial 3DS RetroArch builds

Thanks both. It's too vague a decision-making process for me to get involved in. If it was more empirical I'd be interested in taking it on.

    Homebrew Unofficial 3DS RetroArch builds

You can revert any individual setting to default by pressing space/start on it. To restate my question more clearly: how do we get RetroArch to set better and more performant defaults for N3DS? Who decided the defaults and when?

    Homebrew Excite Truck issues

As detailed in the message/thread you quote, the reason it does not work is that SD access is (currently) disabled by d2x ciOS when games are running from SD card.

    Homebrew Unofficial 3DS RetroArch builds

I tried some more things and threaded video also improved performances, so I am playing these CPS1/2 games at 60fps whereas without those things it was nearer 40fps. If these are not the default, then how do we make them default?

    Homebrew Unofficial 3DS RetroArch builds

Just a quick note. I'm not sure of current defaults, but thought I'd mention that I'm getting much better performance with Settings > Audio > Output > Audio set to dsp_thread rather than dsp. I'm playing Super Pang arcade with Final Burn Neo, using a New 3DS. Might this apply to other cores?
