    My regular 3DSXL is 8.1 and the exploit works fine on it. I honestly don't see Gateway not supporting that firmware, as a lot of N3DS's are on it and waiting for Gateway. And Gateway would want to make sure that people that buy a new N3DS for Gateway can use Gateway.
