Works fine for me from my note 8. USB to usb type C cable and a usb to to regular usb adaptor is all I use. The type c side of the cable HAS to go into the switch. The dongle part that is type C HAS to go into the phone. It doesnt work the other way around for me. Lmk if you have any questions...
