    You can use the browser exploit method for firmwares between 5.0 and 9.2. If you are comfortable with using gateways downgrade feature I'd suggest going back to 4.2 as it gives you more options boots quicker and is just all around more stable for gateway cards.

    All of the PS3's that start with CHECH--25xx use NOR not NAND meaning you can easily downgrade it. If it does happen to have a minimum firmware of 3.56 you should still be able to get a CFW on it. See this guide for a tutorial...

    Just out of curiosity did not read about the bricks until it happened to you? If you knew about it previously I can't imagine why you wouldn't have switched to a safe firmware version. I hope a method is released to fix the bricked consoles, condolences.
