    Didn't Bushing make a mod with expanded memory a few months back?? I am sure I saw something were Bushing or someone else copied the Nand on to a new bigger flash chip and wired it so that it loaded his bigger one instead of the main motherboard one.     If you use the world's famous search engine you will find the UMD tools. Other them using them I don't think there is any way to create pmf files, as Sony never released the codec.

    I have had your problem a number of times over the years. The best solution I found apart from System Restore is to start the computer in Safe Mode Command Promt. Once loaded type chkdsk -F It scans the harddrive and repairs any damaged sectors. Which normally solves the problem.
