    Sorry, I don’t really have the answer for your problem, but I had the same black screen issue with my cruzer glide even without updating the cover. How I solved my problem is that I installed my games on a sd card and use wiiflow to loads, and all games loads fine with covers updated.

    Try putting games on a sd card and use wiiflow to load instead, it might be very possible that the usb stick is causing the problem because I had the same problem at first, but game loads normally after switching to a sd card.

    Try not to use a usb stick, I had the same problem when I was using a sandisk 16gb cruzer glide, every game is black screen when loading, I thought it was the problem when I was setting up cios. But later when I try install games on my see card and using wiiflow it works, game loads normally.
