    I was with the same problem, the problem is really in editing the payload.bin(as least for me), i simply didn't edited the payload, renamed the "bctr.bin" to boot.bin only to start as default , and the homebrew boot file i renamed to "boot_HBL.bin" and changed it in the boot.cfg , worked for me.
