    If you want to do permanent hardware mod, don't use IDE cable wires - i had problems with wires from IDE cable - it worked for reading/writing NAND but when charger was connected the console was very unstable - hangs, blue screens & etc The best wire to use is kynar wire AWG30

    This seems like a good thread to ask... is it possible to do the trick with eshop with real NAND - to update to the latest firmware, buy games from eshop, and then restore to firm 4.5 with the hardware mod, and then play purchased games on 4.5... i'm talking for the older games, not ones that...

    sd adapter soldering is tricky too, but it's not that hard... but only looking at micro usb connector pins discourages me - short, and very close to each other...

    well, your hope is that bricking from flashcard news aren't reached nintendo service in Russia... because in other countries where have been more cases of bricking, Nintendo is refusing to repair consoles under warranty

    yes, it will help you... just you have to be sure that seller is sending you motherboard with firmvare version between 4.1 and 4.5

    i can try on bricked 3ds, but you have arduino and unfortunately at the moment i have possibility to do it with raspberry pi, you can't help me with software part...

    Or you can try only to communicate with controller of normal working 3ds, without doing anything destructive, reading status for example, just to confirm that SPI works

    btw if this helps voltage question - on turned on system, voltage between CMD and GND is 3.30v, and between DAT0 and GND is 3.17v no voltage measured between GND and CLK

    i have bricked 3ds and can borrow raspberry pi... and then to try to read controller state if someone knows what software is needed and commands

    So, they don't even ask for backup of nand on file? Apparently sure, that the nand is intact, and something else is broken...
