I take it given the patch format being based on diff, there's no chance this patch is compatible with the 1.01 version of the game? That's a guess, assuming any change in the cheksum would cause the diff to go wrong. It would be nice to not have silent Go Vahras (one of SEGA's bugs in 1.0), and...
