You have to use one of the three BIOS versions recommended on the emulator's website, but the best one was the one I gave you; I ran into a bug in *Shinobi X* that kept me from progressing, but after I switched the BIOS, the problem was gone! -
GGSB replied to the thread Homebrew Saturn emulation using Cotton/Guardian Force testing and debug.It works great, thank you! I'm not sure why other bios files didn't work, as other games, base SOTN included, worked fine otherwise, and the patch worked on a pc emulator with little fuss.

Is that the only rom you tested? Also are you able to play Castlevania in say your PC - I just want to make sure it's not your game that was patched incorrectly.

I tried updating Tico and the Yabause core, but sadly that hasn't fixed the issue. I've noticed the black screen with the menu still being operational bug seems to also happen if I select "skip bios", so I assume...

I'll let him answer but in the meantime - check that you have the latest (TICO) saturn core and TICO version - I think I found both of these in TIco verse Github.

Every time I try to play them I get stuck on a black screen at boot, even though the base version of of the game runs perfectly.

Today, TICO has updated version 0.6, which is almost perfect for Sega Saturn alone. Added 1MB and 4MB RAM cartridge, fixed the issue of saving SRAM files, and now there is no longer a problem of Lost game save. In 720p mode, the running speed is...
