    Hardware Joy-con rumble pack corrosion/leakage

I have some Joy-cons that are otherwise in impeccable condition, except for this corrosion near the bottom. At first I thought the batteries were leaking, but it actually seems to be emanating from the rumble pack. The surrounding area is covered in a sort of red dust, and there is a distinct...

Hardware Debugging faulty BCM4356 / orange screen / boot loop

Amazing find @acidcoolxxx!! I'm reading through it right now and will update this post with what I find. This passage is already interesting : "Firmwares used by these chips are split in two parts: one part is written into the ROM and cannot be modified, the other part is uploaded by the driver...

Hardware Debugging faulty BCM4356 / orange screen / boot loop

Right, if you are able to get your hands on a broken motherboard you should be able to fix it by swapping the chip. Otherwise, it's not clear atm why new chips (reportedly) don't work.

Hardware How long is the battery in "mariko" switch supposed to last?

The battery is still the same, it's just a more efficient CPU. (https://www.ifixit.com/News/32540/we-tore-down-the-new-nintendo-switch-whats-different)

Hardware How to update firmware when switch will only boot to Hekate

Well if you boot through hekate the fuse check should be disabled so that's probably not it. If you still want to install new firmware there is the method with choidujour for pc but I don't know if it will work with newer versions

Hardware Debugging faulty BCM4356 / orange screen / boot loop

Well I finally did it!! I had already given up hope to ever boot HorizonOS again, because I noticed yesterday that I must have ripped off about 20 pads on the BGA, probably while I was cleaning the pads with my shitty iron and the solder braid was getting stuck to the board. You can see it here...

Hardware Debugging faulty BCM4356 / orange screen / boot loop

If it is recognized by the system it should show up in `lspci` I believe, so if that's not the case in guessing there is a hardware error Yeah exact same chip, just renamed, says so in the data sheets. That would make sense as the firmware binary (specific to each chip) always needs to be...

Hardware Stuck on Switch Logo No 3rd Party Hardware

Ah shoot, if you had a hot air station and it was indeed the wifi chip you could first try just reheating it and see if that makes a difference, or if not replace it with a chip from a donor board.

Hardware Did anyone manage to repair a Switch that´s stuck on the second bootlogo yet?

Well if you mean on this board, I don't know. But a number of people have told me they fixed it (changing out the bcm), plus this guy simply fixed it by reheating the chip:

Hardware Nintendo SWITCH REPLACED P13USB and mq92 chip still shorted???HELP

Uhh I dont know, if the shorts are still there without the chips maybe they are caused by the SoC? Are there caps directly under it that are shorting as well?

Hardware Stuck on Switch Logo No 3rd Party Hardware

Hi, it sounds like you are in the exact same boat I was in. I would recommend you try to boot Ubuntu and check if WiFi and/or Bluetooth is working there. It won't modify your nand as it runs of the SD card. You can back up your nand for good measure in hekate too, it's always good to have it!

Hardware Blank screen but touch screen and in dock fine

Hmm it sounds like a hardware fault since it works docked. The back light and touch work, so I guess the LCD itself could be toast or the ribbon cable / connector to the LCD. If you look inside maybe you see something that doesn't look right.
