    I checked for any scratches or anything like that, but at the same time I'm no expert at all. The game is Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy which only had a physical release in Japan. I also tried other games such as Terraria and Shovel Knight which also didn't work too well.

    Also it's worth noting that I have checked the internals of my 3ds and the card reader seemed perfectly fine

    Okay I reformatted and did everything you told me to and I am still getting random generic errors in the one game I installed. I am going to try a different install but I'm starting to think that the actual card reader in my 3ds is the problem.

    I copied boot.firm and boot.3dsx to my new micro sd and inserted it. When I now turn on my 3ds it says "Could not detect a microSD Card. The software on the microSD Card could not be displayed". I formatted it as fat32 with 32kb cluster size, is there any way to fix this?

    I am going to start fresh with a completely new sd card with completely new files, where can I find the guide to use a new sd card with a cfw 3ds? All places that I have looked at have you copy files over from your old sd card but I don't want to do that since that probably won't fix anything.

    Update: I dumped and installed a copy of a cartridge game and it works perfectly, I'm pretty sure that I should just reinstall all of the cfw at this point.
