    you won't need to install the game if you're using a physical cart. Other than that you just need game patching turned on with the files in the correct place

    How exactly are you replacing the sound folder? It might be that the number of files in the sound folder are different between the JP and US versions.

    On the eshop they replaced the 1.0 version with 2.0. although the physical game only goes up to 1.1
