    umm nah its not that, cos everything about the game is fine - even the startup movie. Really annoying...just doesnt work properly. Is this just me or do other people get the same problem?

    Tried turning deflicker off? Go to Wii system settings > change to 50hz mode, play Brawl, disable Deflicker (ensure it's set to 'off' in Options), go back to Wii settings and put it back into 60hz, then go back into Brawl and see if things are better. The game actually looks a lot better with it...

    Just add your friends and change options when you play with them? You can't change anything in a public game AFAIK, that's just how they designed it.
