    Make sure that your cheat isn't on the bottom of the list. I had that problem too. If that doesn't work, just select a game that you don't have (if you don't have a game, you don't need cheats for that game) and just change the game ID/name and the cheats on that one.

    Just as I thought. I'm almost certain that the cheats caused your problem. If you have any cheats enabled, disable them and check if the game still messes up. If it doesn't, then fine. If it does, then you're eventually screwed and you'll have to start a new game.
