    Thanks for the advice, have you tried replacing the lower LCD? Because my aim is to simply replace the lower LCD and not the top as I am aware that the ribbons inside the hinges can be an absolute nightmare to fix.

    Not the power issue. I've already had the battery replaced. The IPS screens drain significantly more battery than than TN screens. I know this because I have owned both dual IPS, dual TN and top TN bottom IPS, top ips, bottom TN screens. I'm simply just interested in seeing if I can replace it...

    So I have two 3ds units. One with a TOP IPS screen and one with a bottom IPS screen. I want to swap the bottom over to the one with the TOP IPS screen because the inconsistent battery drain is driving me insane.
