    So, I found out what was triggering Avira. It was 3dstool.exe. USB Helper probably gets the latest version, which is to blame (I confirmed previous versions are safer).     Hi, I downloaded the Smash 3DS Demo and ran Prepare For Emulation, but it's "extracting data" forever. In my previous attempt, Avira popped up complaining, I don't know if that has something to do with it.

    I suspect that my right USB port doesn't work anymore, so can I set USB Loader GX (or any USB loader, if I don't have the choice) to load on the left USB port instead of the right one?     Well, as I said before, I tried more than one drive, so that might not be the problem. Also, I had to actually reformat the pendrive and put some random game on it in order to test, so at least on the computer it works.

    I've personally reinstalled the cIOS quite shortly after the discs started going unreadable, to install the USB Loader properly. I'll start using USB extensively when I get my HDD (pretty soon I hope), but still since I can't put original games on it (and am too lazy to re-download everything)...

    My guess is that your lens are dirty, and playing lots of burned discs force it further. My Wii stopped reading discs too, and I'm pretty sure it's a lens problem.
