Hacking Hardware MigSwitch, i just recieve my sample.

Read a couple months ago in the open source DS flashcard thread how the 2040 isn't quite fast enough to comfortably work as a ds flashcard. If that's true then it's not likely it can replace an fpga in a switch flashcard. Also, there are tiny fpgas out there (finally I get to use this pic). I...

Does this mangled SuperCard DSTWO hold any value?

This thing was like $40 when it came out lol.

Hardware What is the rarest DS Flashcart?

Tried that years ago, didn't work. Maybe mine is too bricked for this to work lol.

Gathering DS flashcard knowledge - DIY "opencard" idea

I really doubt you can get the lattice chips anywhere else though, at least not for less. In the end it's a difference of a couple $, not a big deal for small runs.

Gathering DS flashcard knowledge - DIY "opencard" idea

I mean surely a 55nm chip from a few years ago can't be as bad as a 150nm chip from almost 2 decades ago. The power bug might be a concern. if the application triggers it. The Mouser price is unreasonably high, the actual price is ~$3 in singles but they're kinda hard to get outside of china it...

Gathering DS flashcard knowledge - DIY "opencard" idea

If cost is a concern it seems you can get an fpga breakout board for as little as $5. Most flashcards seem to use the A3PN060 variant of the proasic3, which features 512 "macrocells", by their terminology.

Dual-screen handheld gaming PC AYANEO Flip DS "leaked"

Ah yes a 7840U, surely that will run DS games fullspeed. Absolutely adequate & appropriate.

I still have a bricked DSTwo, never figured out how to fix it.

Can you make the Switch's battery stop charging at 60%?

My switch has been "safely docked " for almost 6 years now, without any noticeable battery degradation that could be attributed to docking. Not sure how it does that either, my laptop battery shit the bed about a year after I started docking it.

Hardware Hall Effect sensor joycon sticks on Amazon

Pretty pricey but probably worth it if you actually like using the joycons like me. I wonder how it works, maybe there are a couple of analog output hall sensors inside.

Homebrew Question Best PC Remote Play 2021?

I seems to recall having no issues playing with the monitor off, however it's been years since I've had an nvidia card. If you have an android phone you can quickly test this.

$3 is possible if you're ok with the modchip hanging off the back of your switch.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
