    Ahhhh! I think the penny's finally dropped! lol I wasn't properly ditinguishing between the firmware on the Micro SD card and the firmware on the Acekard itself. I didn't realise that once you updated the bootloader on the Acekard, the firmware on the card is forever changed. So no matter what...

    ok, i suppose that makes sense... once updated the card will work on any console, but the update file needs to be slightly different depending on the type of console you install it on. but why is it then that the AKAIO firmware is one file fits all whereas the update needs different files...

    why are there two update files? one for DSphat/DSL and another for DSi/3DS? the DSi/3DS firmware will work on all consoles, but there's two update files? am i missing something?
