    just don't update your firmware to 4.2... apparently modchips don't work on that firmware. well my wasabi's regionfree capabilities don't work anymore

    Yeah, most people would just pirate it. There's really no incentive for Nintendo to make them, there's no market for those games anymore since the hardcore market is now either negligible and/or just people who pirate the games.

    F zero would be too hardcore for the wii audience, and it'd probably be ruined if they tried to cater for the more casual audience which is now their major market. You can still play f zero x on virtual console though

    I did some reading and apparently 4.2 disables the regionfree on most modchips..which sucks. Right now I'm just running my NTSC games through gecko. So you have the same problem with 4.1 as well? Dang I guess downgrading is out of the question for me until I can update my chip...

    I don't think it'll work. It's because games from different regions have different game IDs assigned to them and to their respective save files. So a PAL version of TP would create a separate save file to an NTSC version of it.
