I see plenty of tutorials on how to put Homebrew on your Wii, but not many on how to remove it. Where can I go to find more information on removing things like Priiloader, Forwarder Channels, cIOS, DIOS MIOS Lite? Obviously, I'm not going to attempt the transfer until I'm pretty damn...- drewmg

So, I was looking at the instructions for NANDClean, and this bit here gave me some pause: 8) Delete the System menu App? This is a dangerous one. Preloader (Priiloader) can only boot the system menu thanks to this (Since Preloader takes the place of the system menu, it has to install this app...- drewmg

Thanks! Good to know I'm not at too much risk. Was wondering if doing one of these disc-prompted updates might be a good way to prep my system for Wii U launch, to get rid of some of the homebrew I've put on there. I guess we'll know more soon.- drewmg

Related question, then - if I run an official update from Nintendo, even the disc-prompted ones which won't really put a new version of the system software... what is the risk that it will brick my console? I have cIOS installed, and Priiloader... that's about the most complicated of the stuff...- drewmg

I'd like to be able to transfer everything over, but I'm definitely willing to wait and see what results others get first. If it just ignores the Homebrew stuff and goes along it's merry way, great, but my guess is that if it sees anything, it won't work. Which sucks, but that's the risk you run.- drewmg

Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, but I've noticed that the last 6 months or so, pretty much newer game every disc I've put into my Wii has told me that a system update was required to run it. Not sure why, since I have 4.3 already. I can get around it by just installing the game...- drewmg
