If you're gonna go the route of relativism then I will remind we're talking about a hobby, and that games are a luxury. There are many more important things in life than getting many levels of pissed at a company defending its property.
As to...
You know it's interesting. I keep hearing that argument in the defense of guns.
The thing is...
Most knife owners don't use them to kill users.
In comparison when TotK was released Yuzu's popularity and support allegedly went all the way up...
I agree with the sentiment but once again, people who pirate current gen games that aren't even released yet are clear evidence that they do not own it.
And for people that tease Nintendo day after day on twitter about how they're playing pirated...
I'm from the 80s, I think low resolution on blurry CTR has a certain charm to it, but that's beside the point.
I don't defend Nintendo going after emulators. Heck no. Nowhere did I do that. I think emulators should be protected because at this...
maybe next time pirates would learn to SHUT UP and stay low profile instead of bragging and sharing everything about piracy/leaks on mainstream social media like twitter and youtube.
I'm surprised it took them THIS long to take down modern...
I mean I went to look at your original post again and you definitely talk about "people's right" when it comes to playing video games, which... yeah no, still not it.
I agree that the law is shit when it comes to not fully owning what you buy...
But... Think about the underprivileged people that are too poor to buy games so they run it on their Steam Decks and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 12GB RAM devices 🤣🤣🤣
Ah yes, I must apologize, I'm no hero, It takes a whole lot of courage to play games for free and defy the company that makes them.
In the name of preservation, of course :)
Speaking of this quote, I'll never forget the time where someone on Twitter posted that they've gotten TOTK early using their Modded Switch, and Reggie said something about it, and the user quickly deactivated their account.
I also just want to...
Nothing you said had anything to do with "people's rights".
"Pirating a game because it doesn't cost them anything" isn't a right.
"Testing a game before buying" isn't a right.
Entertainment is a luxury, there is no "right" to be automatically...
At the end of the day, it's the community that failed Yuzu. Most hides behind the mask called preservation but are just leeches and don't even contribute to the scene (dumping roms, submitting code, donations). This (Switch Scene) has been the...
You should check your definition of customer. A pirate that uses an emulator, download and play games on that emulator is not a customer. That's factually wrong.
Even if you own the console and buy no game, you're not a customer of these games...
The main problem of Nintendo is being overly protective of its IPs, which negatively affects our community many customers here. By "customers" though it doesn't includes pirates, which by definition aren't customers and don't really get a say in...
If you're going to pirate, just say you're a pirate and be done with it. The constant "justifications" make the community look bad. Emulating a new release that'll sell millions worldwide is NOT preservation.
