    This worked! So does mean I had a bad theme? I do have like a hundred themes I like to randomly bounce between on themely.

    We'll see once the test finishes. I've had the card for a good month or two with no issues, so if it is faulty, it took a good while before it became an issue.

    My issue is not updating, it's that my system crashes on boot-up if I have the SD card installed. See the below quotes:

    I'm already on the latest GodMode9 and I'm on Luma version 8.0 thanks to the guide jupitteer pointed me to. Should I now downgrade to 7.1? auto Also there is no arm9loaderhax.bin file in Luma 7.1. So I'm rather confused.

    That does seem to work, though I'm unable to use themely or boot it up with the memory card in place.

    Ok, I copied the arm9loaderhax.bin and overwrote the existing one on my card, and I got 95% through the guide jupitteer posted (just up to where you are supposed to install luma3ds updater). Now when I boot my 3ds, I get a big error screen. It includes red text with "An exception occurred" and a...

    yes, and interestingly the 3ds boots normally with no sd card as well.

    Sorry, horrible noob here. I can hold start to boot it into the luma 3ds chainloader, and load up Godmode9, but how do I check what version I have?
