    My HDD now only shows up as seen in attached screenshot. Is it just not unlocking, or is it possible that I have now damaged the IDE port on my PC? I don't have anything else to test the port with.

    They are locked to consoles via a chip that contains a unique key to unlock it, which is why hotswapping is necessary rather than just plugging it in.

    I don't have anything on it anymore, everything got destroyed. However, I think this will just make the problem worse as all the system files for the xbox are on the hard drive.

    Hello. I attempted to softmod my xbox. I hotswapped, opened up xplorer360, backed up partition 3, then copied the contents of the ndure c folder into partition 3.
