    It would be much better to have BIOS support. I'm not sure how difficult that would be, just putting that out there. Edit: I just checked Shantae, it has a notice in the title screen saying "GBA Enhanced" so I guess that's working fine

    I can play it just fine with Nintendont. If you can hear the Poe quote while you get a black screen you just have to press A, there's a "60Hz" prompt at the start of some games. You can also try forcing progressive, testing different video modes, etc. If it's definitely freezing I don't know...
