Hardware Mig Switch on Switch 2

Below is a post I made in November with some of the AE listings. They use hidden names and photos to avoid being taken down.

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

Even though the repo got taken down, there is still a good Twitter thread that gave lots information on how it worked.

Hardware Mig Switch on Switch 2

Thank you for all of this useful information, I have a couple of questions as someone who doesn't know much about early Switch FW and modding. The unique cartridge identifiers always existed, but were they just not implemented in early versions of Horizon OS? Your experience with the spoofed...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

Oh dang that sucks. Luckily I've got a copy of the repo that I attached to this post, but I wonder why it got taken down. I believe the original poster has no further intentions of doing anything more with this other then releasing it and letting researchers do what they'd like with it. It looks...

Hardware Mig Switch on Switch 2

You can still get them from AliExpress, but the listings have gotten a bit more creative and obfuscated. When I bought mine I had to search for "Mige Switch", but that doesn't work anymore. It looks like they're now calling it "MI R6" or just "R6". Below are some listings I found that are...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

Here's a pretty good thread by hexkyz detailing some new information they have regarding the MIG (original thread here, posted below for convenience). All around it looks like a pretty secure firmware but it's good that researchers are able to understand it more and more.

Do you know if the firmware on the chips for the flashcart and dumper are the same, or does the update differentiate between the two? This is a really cool model. Do you have one for the button model too?

Amazing work! I'm sorry you had to redesign the board from scratch though, haha. You mentioned using JLC's assembly service, is that just for the passives like the capacitors and resistors, or does it also include parts like the RGB LED and microSD slot? I made my BOMs for DigiKey and Mouser...

It could also contain something like leaked code for Nintendo's cartridge protection.

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

I have a few blank boards since I published the PCB files a few months back, and I'm interested to see if the firmware posted by the other user can make these boards into fully working flashcarts and dumpers. Below is my first post on the topic, I've since confirmed that the PCB designs for the...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

This is pretty cool, do you have any more information on the three .bin files and how they can be used to program a blank MIG board? I may give this a try. Additionally, is there a video link to the presentation you gave on the topic?

Hardware Mig Switch on Switch 2

Same, I only ever used the MIG on 1.2.2 on my Switch 2, and I've been using it consistently for over a month with no ban.

Yes! You will need to add the button and a 1kΩ pulldown resistor, but otherwise the PCB should work as a V2 with your parts transplanted. You could also modify your existing PCB per this guide. Unfortunately not. If anyone knows how to make one I'd be happy to send them my shell for reference...

The Switch Flashcart Thread (Mig Switch etc.)

It's been 9 months since I first published the PCBs for the flashcart and dumper, but I finally got around to building the flashcart PCB and can confirm that it works. For anyone that wants to check out the project: https://github.com/sabogalc/MIG-Flash-PCBs

Hardware Be careful with third party cables. Friend was just banned for using a USB C to HDMI Cable. It was flashed with a custom FW to work with the Switch 2.

I didn't know the USB-C DS4 mod had been cloned in China, this listing looks pretty good. https://aliexpress.com/item/2251832502003915.html I've already converted all of my controllers with Marius's mod, but I'll probably pick some of these up anyway.
