Hardware TheGHOST 2020 :: Dev Progress :: Back in development

My original wii is still used just for Guitar Hero customs. I made a bunch back in the day. And I think I need to make one more. Excited to see this is still around.

    Hacking 5.5.0 progress

A shame there's no Waninkoko for the Wii U.....

    Hacking 5.5.0 progress

I got the python PoC running and am able to get an initial UDP connection but no TCP connection yet to return the packets. Not even sure the outbound UDP response is being sent though. Apache wasn't required. Just the python script. And now my electricity is out.

    Hacking 5.5.0 progress

Gonna work on it tonight and this weekend. But like I said, there are people more experienced than I am that could probably test this stuff much faster. Just the fact that nobody has shot the idea down yet is encouraging though.

    Hacking 5.5.0 progress

Please don't let me be the only person that is actually looking into the potential glibc exploit. I assume there is someone on this site that is more familiar with all of the required components and could test all of this much faster than I could. Nonetheless, I will continue to play. I set...

    Hacking 5.5.0 progress

I've tried to not post on this site for years. But then I saw something today that made me wonder if an exploit could be written. http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/02/extremely-severe-bug-leaves-dizzying-number-of-apps-and-devices-vulnerable/ and https://github.com/fjserna/CVE-2015-7547...

Hacking cIOSX rev21d2x: Yet Another Hot Fix!!!!

I never got my 3TB USB3 working in CFG. Switched to GX and it has worked fine ever since. Last time I checked, CFG didn't support the GPT partition table. Maybe that has changed.

Hacking cIOSX rev21d2x: Yet Another Hot Fix!!!!

If you're really bored, you could try the other port with hermes IOS 222. I had to get a wii working for a guy whose kid literally ripped the bottom port out of the wii. It took a little work to set up, but USB Loader GX supports Port1 vs Port0. Don't know about CFG. (if d2x supports port 1...

Hacking cIOSX rev21d2x: Yet Another Hot Fix!!!!

Out of curiosity, is it a new Wii? I had nothing but headaches regarding modding a new wii without the GC ports. Seemed like sometimes it would see the HDD, and other times it wouldn't.

Hacking My discoveries with the new BC-less Wii's

I would like to know if anyone encounters any incompatibilities with the new Wii's and USB HDDs. I just hacked my 22nd Wii. I've never had a problem (thank you ModMii!), but this new one without the GameCube ports is very inconsistent about initializing the USB HDD. 50% of the time, the HBC...

Hacking Karaoke Revolution Glee Volume 3 stuck at blank screen

Singing games? I would try either cIOS 222, or a cIOS with base 57, just for kicks. All depends on how you installed your cIOS's. You say you got base 57 in slot 250, and I'd swear that usually what I've done for singing games... I had a girlfriend that played the singing games. Can't...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

@Cyan I'm an NTFS guy. I was just trying WBFS when I couldn't get the 3TB NTFS to work. I'm now happily at 3TB NTFS. @Dimok I understand completely. I'm doing some googling to find a tool to check the sector size. I don't see the option in diskpart, or in Disk Management. Maybe my BIOS can...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

So, if my drive uses 512 byte sectors, I would need to create two partitions and use the "multiple partitions" option in order to exceed two terabytes?

    Hacking USB Loader GX

Just to clarify my previous statement, the loader makes it past "Initialize USB device" and I do see "Loading Config Files" flash just before it crashes.. I'll try messing with my config (which I swear I renamed). Maybe something is defaulting to look for settings/covers on the USB device...
