    Hacking 3DS decapping fundraising topic.

it's interesting that it is. I mean, reverse engineering is perfectly legal under US law(where kickstarter is presumably located), right?

Gaming Any 3DS games for learning Japanese?

Thanks! Yeah, My Japanese Coach seems like a good starting point. Too bad there doesn't seem to be a 3DS native game, but it's no big deal. I'll also try Livemocha. I'm already on a few online systems, but testing out another can't hurt.

Gaming Any 3DS games for learning Japanese?

I had already gone through all top links on Google. they're only older resources that recommend only DS games, or posts that recommend the Japanese versions of normal games, not specific Japanese language learning applications or games. that's why I asked here.

Oh cool, that's good to know.

Gaming Any 3DS games for learning Japanese?

Yeah, I'm leaning towards getting an extra Japanese one myself. Depends on how much money I have when I'm there (planning on having a decent amount but since I'm a freelancer, you never know). Anybody know any games that are specifically meant for English-speaking people to learn Japanese...

Gaming Any 3DS games for learning Japanese?

hi there. I've been studying Japanese for a couple of years now (tho not very intensively, just courses), and since I recently got a 3DS I've been looking around to see if there are any games for studying the language. I did find a post on DS games but it's almost 6 years old. surely there must...

    Hacking Gamecube roms on 3ds

lol literally the post directly above yours (including a few others that go in more detail) explains that there isn't really much difference between ROMs and ISOs. besides that, saying "the 3DS can't emulate an ISO file" makes no sense. you emulate a system, and an ISO file (or ROM, or whatever)...

    Hacking Gamecube roms on 3ds

this has been pointed out before, and it's a minor note, but disc backups are for all intents and purposes the same thing as ROMs. the only difference is ISOs contain a CDFS filesystem.

    Hacking Gamecube roms on 3ds

Depends on the format, some roms can be opened and some don't really have "files" inside (like a NES rom). but you're right, some roms do have files. a CD ISO is a good example of a ROM that has files, in fact :)

    Hacking Gamecube roms on 3ds

Yeah, "rom" is just a name that means essentially the same thing as "iso". I mean, they're pretty vague terms, and ISO mostly refers to ISO9660/CDFS and is an actual filesystem, but any definition of either term has at least the commonality that they're read-only images that contain a game. so...

    Hacking Was the hack patched?

yeah, if the hack were released it could at the very least give other programmers (emulator, etc) something to work with. but I'm sure there are other things to consider. maybe Nintendo will immediately patch the exploit, something that's less likely if the exploit is only user-mode.

    Hacking Was the hack patched?

I've also seen it used for backtracking. so someone says something that's wrong or really terrible, and they get called out on it, and then they just say "I was trolling" even though they probably weren't. so I don't always take someone's word for it when they say that. (but aside from that, I...

    Hacking Gamecube roms on 3ds

ah yeah, you're right. there's an architecture difference. even though we have no benchmarks, I'm guessing that fact probably makes it unlikely that GC games will ever run on 3DS via emulation.

    Hacking Was the hack patched?

I never really understand what people mean when they say "trolling". does this mean he was just lying to get people to stop asking him, and he'll eventually release it? and if so, what's the basis for that conclusion, did he tell you in private? (I'm not saying I don't believe you btw, just that...

    Hacking Gamecube roms on 3ds

yeah, you're right. although I wonder how good an emulator could be in theory if Nintendo themselves were to make one, with all their technical knowledge. thinking like what Sony did for PSX support on the PSP. (although there's no reason to think that Nintendo is interested in doing this.) on...
