Hacking Hardware DS Solder Pad gone, should I give up on this board?

Oh no I forgot to tell you about the last step of every botch: sealing. Even the tiny wires act as levers on the solder points, so usually they need some reinforcement. Depending on the situation the minimum is to tape everything down, though putting UV curable solder mask or hot glue is also...

Ah well good to see this had a happy ending!

If I understand it correctly you're bypassing the EM filter then. It'll be probably ok, though I'd rather keep it in there. You can directly solder to the input side of the EMI filter:

    Emulation Homebrew duckstation for Switch

A lot of these options end up starting a QT dialog which is not really directly portable to Switch. They would need to be all redone which I never got around doing.

Hacking Hardware DS Solder Pad gone, should I give up on this board?

For this I never bought anything special, for example these are the top results on Aliexpress for me, any of these seem to be ok (though I never tried the ones with red isolation, I've always used the transparent coated ones). The one big thing you need to look out for is the diameter. If it's...

Hacking Hardware DS Solder Pad gone, should I give up on this board?

Yes, this is still far from gone (you need to look at my GBA SP). The tool of choice for things like this is magnet wire. It is wire which is isolated by a very thin usually transparent coating, so on first glance it looks like unisolated solid core wire. It is thus very compact compared e.g...

Emulation Homebrew melonDS for Switch — continuation part 2

I can't find the source anywhere on their Github fork, in fact it seems to not include any Switch related code at all, just binaries in the release section?

Hardware The SUPER5 OLED screen mod for the Switch Lite uses a 1080p screen and stretches the Switch Lite's 720p signal to fit.

I noticed that too on my OLED modded Switch (not the HDMI version). Makes me think they don't put their hardware properly to sleep, pretty frustrating. I guess it wouldn't be impossible to make a board which goes inbetween which cuts power to the OLED5 screen hardware when the screen is supposed...

    Emulation Homebrew duckstation for Switch

I decided to also update to the last GPL licensed duckstation version, so making everything work again will take a bit longer. In the mean time I guess you can use drizztbsd's build.

    Emulation Homebrew duckstation for Switch

All homebrew needs to be recompiled due to breaking changes Nintendo made. Don't expect much new activity here, but I will probably put up a new build this week.

Emulation Homebrew melonDS for Switch — continuation part 2

The issue was fixed in newer versions of melonDS. As a workaround we made a savestate fixer https://nhp.sh/gen5statefix/ Not enabling C-gear prevents the issue from appearing at all.

Best Thinkpad to reduce my screentime?

Until recently I used an x201 daily for most things for about half a year. It is still new enough to run Youtube videos (though in Firefox they lag in fullscreen). Before that I tried using an x61 for a day or two, but it was just too slow. Somewhere around that is going to be the cut off point.
