So this is my Third attempt doing this, exactly. I even completely factory reset the Wii U side as well and remodded it from scratch and still got the exact same symptoms, black screen upon launching any channel at all.

I'm having the exact same issue. This occurred to me after factory restarting (connected to the internet) my Wii U and my vWii will get to the main Wii menu and whenever I load an app or a legal game disc it'll just black screen and disconnect...
