I have used a SMD Schottky Diode (MBR0520 Not sure of the exact model) as it has a lower voltage drop than a regular Diode and I am assuming a lower power draw from the battery.
I measured 4.04v from the battery terminals and 3.78v from the diode giving a drop of 0.26v. This get the voltage...
I don't like the unclean look either! It is very much a bodge job I only used a pair of wire cutters. :) :grog:
I just did it quick see if it could fit. It does the job perfectly well enough and the fit is like a regular cartridge so I can't be bothered to try and do it properly. (lazy:lol:)...

I brought one of the green 850mah ones available on eBay. I presume they are all made by the same manufacturer. Some of the others I have seen appear to be old stock so they may not be a good idea to get.
I have been using mine for a few months now with out any issues. I also run easy flash IV...

I have an AGB-001(40 pin) that I am going to add backlight screen to soon I am thinking of also adding a 12v supply for the screen as I suspect that it will be more efficient than taking the power from DA1. Will also be able to achieve full brightness.I have ran some tests on it before I mod it...
