    quick update : The problem seems to be with the cable thankfully. I use a cheap knockoff cable as my new 3ds xl didn't come with a charger and it seems to finally give out after a few years. I appreciate your feedback thus far and thanks for the help

    I have the exact same problem and am wondering as to what part did your brother bit. I have the same issue and I'm not sure as to whether the problem is with the charging pin or the charger itself. I'm kinda hoping it's just my charger dying so I can just replace it
