Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Well, no problem, just use this point instead of ripped traces on the flex :) 1682680781 I’ve tried to update via toolbox, and it shows update done, but version of picofly fw is not changing (may be because of emmc malfunction). Backup successfully made after trying to boot to stock. As soon as...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

300 Celsius for 2 minutes for desoldering, about 1.5 minute for soldering back. But how it can not completely dead? Boot 0/1 are working. And also how it was working immediately after reballing (remember I’ve booted stock before solderin rp2040 and it was working like a charm)

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Hello! Guys I have a weird problem here. From the beginning: brand new switch oled, successfully updated to 16.0.2 before picofly install. Dat0 was soldered with enameled wire via reballing Hynix emmc. I’ve soldered all other wires to it’s places (but not to rp2040) and booted stock FINE, just...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Well, there is an Xbox 360 emmc reader project called PicoFlasher. https://github.com/X360Tools/PicoFlasher. It can read 16mb Xbox nand in spi mode and 4gb emmc in 1bit mode (according to only 4 pins required). Don’t know is it capable of reading boot 0/1. In windows definitely no, but Linux may...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Ok. Will be able to check in 12 hours from now. But 90% sure it was Samsung emmc there. Anyway, I have several V2 and lite switches in stock, will try to find one with Hynix emmc. Also I have many oleds, but just don’t want to mess with oled rp2040 installation :), it would be better to test...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Well, I’ve already made that on my first try to install rp2040. I had lite with Sx lite. Wired the rp2040 to the solder points as it was on diagram, used already installed cpu flex (Sx orig) - nothing. -> several diode mode readings, resoldering, getting rid of Sx smal upper flex (for emmc and...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Hi, no the only one thing that was not made is bridging led mode pins, but I really think it will not affect at all. May be length and thickness of wires can really be the problem. In original photos from first leak, we saw short and thick wire going to the cpu flex from rp2040, soldering was...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Long wires in the pic I’ve provided was necessary for that type of install, I just could not find any way to fit V4 chip to oled. I know it is not so beautiful, but it worked :). With my rp2040 install on lite of course I didn’t used so long wires (I think they were about 3-4cm long, may be cpu...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Wow, really, at first I used original Sx lite cpu flex, because, Sx chip was allready installed. I removed only chip and flex to the D0, clk, rst, cmd points. Second try was with np2016dr mosfet (from hwfly flex) soldered with wires - same result. And at last - V2 flex from hwfly V4. At the...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Unfortunately no, I’ve done that install just to test current implementation of rp2040. I’ve done maaany OLEDs for now, so it was caused not from the lack of skills, believe me :) Once I’ve had to install several V2 hwfly to oled and that was the tricky moment, because there were no diagram for...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Same problem here. Flashed .uf2 (1.1 unlocked Ubuntu one), soldered all points correctly to switch lite… aaaaand yellow led at the end :(. Tried several times, several rp2040, with and without resistors (0806 smd 47ohm) same thing. Used np2016dr mosfet (taken from hwfly V2 flex) - soldered with...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Ok, that makes sense :) And obviously cpu flex (or only 2pcs np2016dr from it) is still needed.

Well, how can it work without those 2 mosfets on cpu flex?

HWfly STlink flashing issues after brick

Well, the same problem with hwfly lite here. After tons of work on mine chip I can say for sure that Gigadevice GD32f350 is not working properly. It is not “burned”, it can be programmed via ST-link but nothing after that. It needs to be replaced. You can find those on Aliexpress. I’ve swapped...

    Switch OLED teardown V1/V2

Hello! I’ve managed to install new OLED hwfly chip with qfn fpga to switch lite and it is doing glitch process very well showing oled’s “no sd” screen. Entering to hekate ends with black screen. Think this happens because chip expects oled screen, not the lite one. With pheeenom’s 0.40 firmware...
