    I've got cakes running on n3DS and n3DSXL with 9.2E + 10.5E with no issues at all. How are you launching cakes? Have you tried removing the config and starting again, making sure you have the boot emunand and enable patches set?

    Seems to be a not uncommon problem (I had it on a n3dsxl) just use a game to apply an update (I used triforce heroes) and try again if you want , or boot into recovery mode and let it update to 10.5 but loose ability to downgrade.

    I'm guessing my only option is to now do a recovery mode which will force me on to 10.4 or can I insert a game with a 10.3 requirement and get that to update the f/w? Are there any 10.3 games atm? I have a gateway + sky3ds I can use if that helps me.

    I'm trying this atm, and at the point I have to boot browserhax (sliderhax in this instance) from inside pasta it always fails. It just stays on grey screen.     ah, I spotted on another thread someone said to launch ftpbrony as they were having issues launching stuff from hbl, and lo and behold, it works, no idea why, but i launched ftpbrony first, then quit it then launched emunand9 and it ran ok.
