With homebrew 4.x (roploader) and the PalantineCFW launcher.dat (not launcher_GW.dat), after several tries, it worked.

is there another and faster way to boot the CFW after installing DevMenu? Can i start it wite the gateway 3.0.1 Launcher without a red card?

Not that I know of....took me awhile. I just put the 3ds in sleep mode instead of shutting it down

FINALLY! COMPLETELY WITHOUT GATEWAY!

Now my biggest question - back up this NAND as it is, restore your initial NAND, then restore this NAND. Will it work just fine?

I assume so but until its tested working fine AND there is an offline option in case Gateway cries and takes down their exploit site, I'm staying on 9.2. I'm not afraid to hard mod my 3ds even if it does fail, so I should just take the plunge!

I've not tested it yet. Possibly it could work.
Only bad that I don't have any HARD MOD yet...

No, all games and saves were still installed . Only the newer games like Fantasy Life were unable to boot.
Other Games like Mario 3D land and such worked without problems

Awesome! Could you check and see if the go.gateway-3ds.com browser exploit works on the downgraded firmware? That's my final concern...so if I downgrade and want to back, I can easily just restore using the exploit!

Sure it works!
But now, we need a better way to boot the CFW.
Can we boot the CFW with Gateway 3.0.1?

Unfortunately, you can't. It really doesn't help that this was leaked, and thus nobody is working on it. Otherwise, there might be support for versions higher than 4.x ^^

NAND dumps only work on the console they were dumped from. Restoring somebody else's NAND will brick your system.

Edit: Also, the launcher is what patches the 3ds to allow devmenu to run. The CFW just uses a different format of emuNAND, nothing special about it.

Hi everyone.... I've downgraded, (v4.2 now) and did the instructions on page 11, and everything goes fine except.

When the 3ds restarts after the white screen flash, it doesn't seem to be connecting to the internet. Turning the wifi off works fine, but the 3ds 'jams' when turning the wifi on.
It also crashes after some time.
Instantly entering the web browser doesn't crash the 3ds, but it doesn't manage to load any webpages either, even though the ds says : Internet at the top left.

I've tried both static and dynamic ip settings on the 3ds, same thing.

What do I do in this situation to install DevMenu?

quick edit: do i have to open up my DS flashcart, and run bootmenu every single time?
