Soooo, I have many applications I love on my desktop, like visual novels, to games.
What are yours? If you can, post some pictures too.
This is not limited to PC. Mobile users can post their favorite applications too.
Here is my list:

I love these to death, especially the Type-Moon franchises (currently reading Tsukihime with Hollow Ataraxia on-hold.) and Final Fantasy.

Allows you to make custom installers for different programs, run it again and it updates things and thus makes installing new machines and sorting things remotely far nicer.
I would buy many devs of things on there a beer too but they are fairly obvious.

Need to make a professional looking long form document but can't be bothered to learn the ins and outs of tex/latex though still want it underpinning what you do? Lyx has you then. Takes a little while to get used to it if you are more used to ms office/libreoffice/whatever style what you see is what you get editing but once you have it you will wonder how you ever did anything longer than 2 pages in MS word or libre/open office writer or similar.

Anybody that has ever tried to mess with MS Office picture and text placement will possibly have wanted to go office space on your computer. This is the answer to that, at least from the free world -- I have used adobe's indesign and indesign has far more going for it but this still does for menus and posters for small businesses and such.

An amazingly powerful video editor that is free.

Most other things I use are pretty interchangeable. I like certain ones but where I would be tempted to install those when sitting on a client's machine I will often muddle through with others, give or take occasionally installing GIMP.

The program which registered the most uptime is Mirc.
launched 24/24h since 2000.

Girder (control anything on PC (similar to glovepie) with an IR receiver and any remote controllers).
Used to make my computer a media player on second monitor, controlled with an IR remote.

Then lot of "usual" and known tools, like notepad++, internet browser, etc.
