Hi, I'm not sure if this is happening for anyone else but I am experiencing weird behaviour when typing in messages in threads. Large parts of my message will suddenly disappear, typing will suddenly shift to different locations, portions of the message will revert to a few seconds back, and submitting the message will post the version I typed before I corrected spelling. This occurs more frequently when the "draft saved" message pops up. I thought it might be an issue with Firefox mobile for Android, but this is occurring with Firefox on my desktop computer as well. Any thoughts?

If that happens on a laptop then I would usually say disable the touchpad or learn not to touch it when trying (easier said than done a lot of the time but hey).

For a phone though I would probably look at the same thing if it can (I don't know if you have a bit of dirt/crack on the screen that acts as a press sometimes -- I have had this for a touchscreen laptop before) and then start looking at incomplete downloads of things (don't know what goes as far as heavy javascript in the mobile version).

basically if you type normally, it works fine. but if you do some crazy editing, it'll behave weirdly

Actually , I was going to make a topic on this because I've been having these sorts of issues on mobile across different devices for some time now.

Sometimes entering in any punctuation will instead put two spaces, which is something my phone doesn't do on the keyboard. Sometimes it'll create spaces randomly like you see at the beginning of my post. Editing is a nightmare (oh hey I just put a comma and it put two spaces just now) using backspace will start eradicating words from previous sentences, especially if you're deleting a longer section of words . (why did it just put that space after the period and now it put two spaces when I was trying to put an end bracket) All sorts of weird glitches.

Other forums don't give me these oddities. I have tried posting on a Samsung S9+, Note 9, Huawei P20 Pro, iPhone 8, Motorola Z2 Play and now on my Samsung S10+, it's still doing it to me ! (and there's another space before my exclamation mark for some reason)

Does this happen after moving from the title to the main section of posting, or after tagging someone and letting the site complete the name? I find with my phone (iPhone with SwiftKey installed), it remembers what the keyboard types and gets very confused if the page does anything to the text that it doesn't know about. Like moving from the title to the main body of text usually inserts extra space and didn't capitalise the first letter, and tagging someone and letting the site compete the name changes it and the next word to nonsense (I always have to write the whole name).

I will just literally press the reply button to quote a post (that was supposed to be a comma) and enter my post text in the quick reply where it automatically generates the quote. I don't touch anything else (that was supposed to be a period)

EDIT: One commonality is that I also use SwiftKey).

Possibly the keyboard thinks it is in the middle of typing something and then screws with the beginning of your reply?

This actually isn't just a problem with SwiftKey, the Gboard keyboard has the same problem for me. Periods get spaces after it, if you enter text in between words it'll glitch out and either delete parts or even overwrite the word after completely.

This used to be fixed by going to the BB Code editor instead of WYSIWYG, but that doesn't seem to work anymore unfortunately.

I use Gboard on Chrome myself and everything done automatically (spelling, spaces after periods, etc) is disabled, and I never had any problem posting.

However! Editing your written post between words, as mentioned, will glitch up and cut chunks of words, add random characters, and make a nicely written post broken in a few key insertions.

I've first assumed it was a mobile bug for everything, but as others mentioned, it seems to only happen here.

I rarely write essays on mobile though, so I never had much problems from it, but it does happen as well.
