a larger one would also work

I've arrived at MLC, I see it faster, I think that for almost 30 minutes it was faster than the time last time...
If it doesn't finish within an hour, I will change the memory... I will empty the 256GB MicroSd, which is the only one I have available...

edit:
3 and a half hours later... I'll leave it overnight...

After formatting you can try if you can boot the redNAND with this stroopwafel https://github.com/jan-hofmeier/stroopwafel/releases and this minute/rednand.ini:

Code:
[partitions]
slccmpt=false
slc=ture
mlc=true

[scfm]
disable=false
allow_sys=false
Ok for the saves we need to dump the eMMC, but for that we need a newer minute because the old one you have, has a bug. And we need to flash the boot1 to slccmpt, so we can use a 64gb or larger SD for the dump.
Get the boot1.img and the fw.img from here: https://github.com/jan-hofmeier/minute_minute/releases/tag/sderase-v1.1
Rename the boot1.img to boot1_slccmpt.img and copy it on your current defuse SD.
Then go to backup and restore in minute and flash the boot_slccmpt.img to slccmpt.
After that we can use any FAT32 formatted SD and don't need to flash the boot1.img to it.
So grab an SD with at least 64gb, make sure it is FAT32 and put the new fw.img on it.
The card will be formatted, so make sure nothing important is on it.
Then boot the new SD and go to backup and restore and do format redNAND. That will take a while and clone the mlc to the SD card from where we can then extract the saves using wfs-extract
So in the 64GB memory is everything backed up? No? Or do I need to add the "ini"?
oh can I go directly to wfs-extract? how is it used?
Then you can delete everything from the eMMC and reinstall 5.5.6, right?

EDIT:

1711070578951.png

I was reading this,
I did step 5 and 6...
and I start, slowly but I start...
The slow thing is because I'm from SD, right?
IMG_20240321_182730_925.jpg

I did step 7...
A window came out that said...
"welcome to rednand salt edition"
faster start than before... I would say better...

Can it be used normally? I'm just from SD, right?
All of this could no longer be cloned to the eMMC because it is damaged, right?
then I have to physically replace that memory on the motherboard with an SD or microSD as in the post
"Using NAND-AID to repair a broken eMMC (fix 160-0103 system memory error)", right?

I would say the best thing to do would be to backup your saves now using save mii and then replace the eMMC and reinstall the MLC fresh there. You don't know how much more corruption there is. The booting now was just to give you a convenient way to get the saves

You're right, I'm going to do the backup, which is the most important thing right now...

Do you think it would be worth formatting and installing the MLC again on the eMMC? Or do I better see a way to install a MicroSD to replace it...?
By the way, apart from the microSD, is there any other type of capacity limit? or can you put SSD?

On an HDD that had games, is there a way to save them? And they can reconnect to the new MLC, what will I put? or will it be lost?

EDIT:
Save mii is failed...

Backing up was the whole point of creating this redNAND and booting it. The slow speed is because the Wii U doesn't like your SD card or some reason or maybe because on of the contacts in the slot is bad. Better get off of it what you need and then don't bother with it again. But yeah in theory it would be possible to fix up all the corruption on the redNAND and use that. But it is not really recommended, since it was cloned form the sys nand, it has SCFM enabled, which will give you really poor write performance.

Do you think it would be worth formatting and installing the MLC again on the eMMC? Or do I better see a way to install a MicroSD to replace it...?
While it is possible to erase the eMMC and reinstall a new system to it, I really don't recommend it. The eMMC failed you once, it will fail you again. Also I don't want to have that possibility wide spread, as it could be abused by ruthless sellsers to take a shortcut and sell consoles with broken hardware as working.
The cleanes solution would be to instal a MLC2SD and use a micro SD with it. But you don't have to. You could also just use some wires to just solder a micro SD adapter to it.
You could also use redNAND, if you find a SD card that works properly and install a fresh system to the redNAND. uSATA with a SATA SSD would also be an option, but you would lose the Disc drive.
Since you were able to defuse and are already in the console, I would asume you want also to replace the eMMC with an SD to restore original functionality completely.

By the way, apart from the microSD, is there any other type of capacity limit? or can you put SSD?
You can use any size of SD >= 8GB, but IOSU will limit the usable size to 64GB. To use more than 64GB, you need an IOSU patch, and that would require you to keep defuse or ISFShax installed (else the patch can't be applied early enough).
To use an SSD you would need to use the uSATA to replace the Disc drive with a SATA SSD. This would be limited to 2TB, and doesn't require permanent defuse / ISFShax.

On an HDD that had games, is there a way to save them? And they can reconnect to the new MLC, what will I put? or will it be lost?
It will just work. You might have to create more users after the rebuild to get the numerical user id to match the saves on the HDD, but that is rather trivial.

Save mii is failed...
Where exactly does it fail? Launching or backing up a save? Try one save at a time and make sure to use the latest SaveMii.
If SaveMii doesn't work, you could still use FTP to download the saves that way.

I understand, then that would be better...
I'll see if I can get another MicroSD to see what happens...

I like your way of thinking...
Yes, I saw your post, I thought it was excellent...
I was thinking of using some gamecube "SD2SP2" that I have, which would be basically the same based on what I'm understanding...

So if I use a 32GB or 64GB one, I can leave it mounted, replacing the eMMC and I won't need "defuse or ISFhax", correct?
I have several 32GB ones, I think I'll try one of those to start...
Then I'll see if I get one of 64GB or larger...

It will just work. You might have to create more users after the rebuild to get the numerical user id to match the saves on the HDD, but that is rather trivial.

Just because it is the same console, will it read it? Didn't it depend on the Wiiu operating system?
because I have 2 Wiiu's, a white 4g one and this black 32gb one that we have been repairing...
I can't cross the HDDs, if I put the one on the black console on the white one, it wouldn't read them... is there something I'm ignoring?

I mean, without manipulating my HDD of my old MLC, when installing the new MLC will it read it without problems as if nothing happened? it would be great jeje

when starting savemii from homebrew... I didn't enter the menu or anything about savemii and the screen went black...
and if it was the latest version... I will have to use FTP...

The SD2SP won't work, as it only used SPI and not SDIO. SPI uses less pins. So you would need to solder some wires to the SD slot directly.

You can use a 64GB card directly. The Sandisk Max Endurance cards are confirmed working, we are using them all the time. Samsung Endurance cards should also be fine.

Just because it is the same console, will it read it?
We are not doing a factory reset, so the USB key in the SEEPROM stays the same. So it will be able to read the same drive. Also whatever it has in the SLC relating to the USB also won't be touched.
Every console has it's own key, that's why you can't swap it between consoles.

For getting the saves with FTP:
make sure access to system files is enabled:

  1. Open the Aroma Plugin Configuration Menu using L + Down + SELECT (-) on the GamePad or Pro Controller (or B + Down + Minus (-) for WiiMotes)
  2. Open the FTPiiU option, then settings and set ‘Allow access to system files’ to ‘true’ by pressing A

Downloading the saves:

  1. Using a FTP client on the PC browse to /storage_mlc/usr
  2. Make sure your FTP client is in binary mode (not ASCII mode)
  3. Download the save folder to your PC

seriously? I haven't checked the pinout, if something is missing then I'll add the jumper, but the card allows me to take advantage of the MicroSD connectors that I have... what's missing is added, right? If not, then I add a MicroSd to SD that I also have...

ok, I will give priority to those MicroSD brands that you recommend...

oh, I understand, I understand then how that HDD and the SLC work, and it is not the same as the MLC that we are editing... okay okay...

I don't have the "aroma" I have the haxchi, to enter the homebrew , I don't think there is a problem, right? First use FTP to delete the "update" folder... they would be the same steps to enter, right?
and then do the steps you say to download the files to the PC, right?

Oh maybe savemii isn't working because you are on haxchi. I think for haxchi you would have to use this: https://hb-app.store/wiiu/savemii
Or you just upgrade to Aroma, just for running savemii once, you don't have to install it to the console, you can just run it from the browser exploit.

Here have a look at the pinout: http://www.electroniccircuitsdesign.com/pinout/sd-microsd-card-pinout.html
SD2SP uses SPI and the Wii U uses SD. The slot itself probably has all the pins, but they go nowhere on the PCB

oh, I see, so now I'm going to try the other Savemii for haxchi, if it doesn't work I'll see about Aroma from the explorer...

Yes, that's what I thought, that not all the pins would be on the PCB and I would have to solder jumpers from the connector, I will check it calmly before soldering anything... thank you, I really appreciate your attention and your knowledge.
