Does anybody know how to get WiiConnect 24 working while using USB Loader GX?

Here's whats going on. My friend and I are using homebrew TP Hacked wii's and USB loader GX (latest rev6xx). We can both play individually online without any trouble when we are playing "The Conduit" but when we try to add each other as friends it doesn't seem to work.

Our codes are put in right, and the Codes will show up in the friend roster. The problem is accepting friend request's gives me the error of "No internet connection, cannot connect to WiiConnect24"

Any ideas as to how to make this work or what the problem is will be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

use cIOS 223 and it will fix the problem, or use a lower rev like rev9 cIOS249.
Just install one with Hermes cIOS installer. You can also install it as 222, it doesn't matter. Just install 36 merged with 38 or 36 merged with 37, and set the GX to use 222 or 223 (depending on which you choosed before) for that game. You can download the Installer here.

Next time serach, was answered several times -.-

the most likely reason for this is from this little guy right here...
bool ShutdownWC24()
{
bool onlinefix = IsNetworkInit();
if(onlinefix) {
s32 kd_fd, ret;
STACK_ALIGN(u8, kd_buf, 0x20, 32);

kd_fd = IOS_Open("/dev/net/kd/request", 0);
if (kd_fd >= 0) {
ret = IOS_Ioctl(kd_fd, 7, NULL, 0, kd_buf, 0x20);
if(ret >= 0)
onlinefix = false; // fixed no IOS reload needed
IOS_Close(kd_fd);
}
}
return onlinefix;
}

then before a game is launched

bool onlinefix = ShutdownWC24();
if(IOS_GetVersion() != ios2 || onlinefix == true) {
ret = Sys_IosReload(ios2);
if(ret < 0) {
Sys_IosReload(249);
}
}
it is a function that turns off the wiiconnect24 shit. it also helps game compatibility a lot. so you can either take out the second part of code, alter it, or use ios222. but if you do take it out, not all games will work like they should.

thanks for all the replies.

I've tried using that Hermes cIOS installer several different ways and haven't had any success.
I've also tried setting usb loader to use 222 and such without success.

I can play online fine, what doesn't work is only in The Conduit when I try to add my friend. It says the ID has been added, I still need to accept the friend request. When we go to that menu it says "loading friend request" then "Wiiconnect24 is disabled please check your system settings. . ." which I have checked.

So I still don't know what to do. . .

Wait why do you need WiiConnect24? You just need to add each other's friend code, and after a moment you'll be friends. I never even needed to touch that friend request menu to get it working(that's cause my router doesn't like WC24, but tha'ts another story)

thats strange, because we both added each others friend code and it still doesn't work. It doesn't say that either of us is online.

    the legal drinking age here in the US is 21, as some of you may know, but i think either it should be 18 or the age you're an adult should be 21.

  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    and i know what you may be thinking, "why become an adult at 21? doesn't that mean that banging an 18 year old would be illegal?"
    first of all, being in a relationship with someone who's 18 is technically ok, as long as it started when they were 18, but the age gap is still weird depending on how old you are. besides, the age of consent differs between different states

  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    also my reasoning for adult age being 21 is because the reason that's the drinking (and now smoking) age is because it "gives them more time to think rationally and not drive drunk"
    so you should have that extra time to mature and think rationally before going to serve in the military or vote
    +1
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    tl;dr the "adult" age and the legal drinking age (and voting age) here in the US should be the same

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    What about making kids wait till 18 or 21 to drive? And yea is messed up, you can join army and die for your country at age 18, but you can't drink alcohol or smoke a cig til 21, is ridiculous
