I got a wii from a facebook marketplace dude, when i received it, i discovered that the included wireless nunchuck doesn't have its dongle included, any idea of a work around ? there are tips on YouTube on how to use a wireless mouse when you lose its dongle... so ... maybe ...

This is a Nyko Kama. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyko_Kama

You'd need to reverse engineer the wireless dongle (probably uses a common wireless band already approved by the FCC) then somehow figure out how it connects to the wiimote, and have it communicate with each other.

Luckily, you have some of the work cut out for you since someone has somewhat already poked at it. https://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wiimote/Extension_Controllers/Nunchuck#Nyko_Kama

Looks like the FCC has kindly given some schematics for it, but you'd still need the firmware at that point.

Someone has already reverse engineered the GameCube's Wavebird, so it'd be a good reference point.

tl;dr You need the dongle - no way around it. It's a fuck ton of effort trying to get this dinky little accessory working.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
