The awkwardness if 5.4 has just doubled, we can't go online, or play with hacks.
There is an exploit confirmed for 5.4 and it might be released soon just try not to update from now on. Or if you really want to, you could buy a spare wiiu for less than 100 usd with fw <= 5.3.2, dedicated to homebrew .

I seem to be having trouble using the kernel exploit hosted on wj44's site after spoofing. I used to be able to get it to load on the first try every time, but after 45 minutes of resetting my Wii U over and over, I can't get it to work now. I've tried the tabs trick, clearing browsing data, and completely erasing the browser's save data. I can still access the WUP Installer though.

well if im not mistaken the first time you acess the wup installer its the kernel exploit the second time is the one that is the wup installer so to speak so try acessing wup installer and then run whatever you want with kernel.

This just looks like he's reverse engineering crediar's inexplicably-closed-source WUP installer.
That's another guess I had. (although I didn't want it to be "just" that ^^)
But that also means that @crediar has information on some functions that are not yet in the WiiUbrew database! :O
Why not update the brew? :P

just made a small change to the kernel exploit which on fail will now just print out that you need to enter and exit system settings and then exit the browser so you can do so, can be really handy for stuff.
So we'll no longer have a freeze upon trying it out?
We'll just have to reopen the Browser?

You never know if the key works or not, they don't provide a guarantee.

Sure is... and poor devs get hit with the charge backs

    Exactly.

Thor from "Pirate Software" said its just better to pirate the game than buy from a keyshop if you care about the devs

devs don't get hit with the chargebacks, the keys are free to generate

Except he said the DEVS get hits with the chargeback cost

since the key gets bought with a stolen credit card
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
there's nothing to charge back because the keys don't cost them money to generate in the first place
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If the game has a crack sure
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Most these crack sites have dead links anymore or the crack don't even work
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
@The Real Jdbye What don't you get? If someone use a stolen creditcard. Then sell said key on G2A. If I the dev sold the game key, I will get the charge back cost. That's how it works, it doesn't matter if I generate 300 keys if 300 of them are bought with stolen credit cards. I never said it was on Steam, but its the dev that gets hit. There is a ton of stories out there if you google it.
