Hacking Wii refuses to read hard drives

right, so I'm new to the whole USB loader thing, I went and got configurable and GX to see if eithor worked and which worked better, the thing is while my drives will format and the programs load, they wont recognize any drives. it wouldn't read my Simpletech signature mini or my attache' PNY 16 gb (which is on the supported devices list). All programs give me a timeout error, I know the ports work cause I plug up my wiimote chargers to them and they work fine, and it's in the outermost port.

how are you loading your games?
WBFS or FAT partition?

WBFS, but ive tried both ways. I followed the guide and used the programs from that link for both FAT and WBFS with three different hard drives, two usb powered and one with an external power source but it did not recognize any of them when using configurable or GX

Just an FYI, I was using CIOS rev 7, when I updated to 15 it started working.
